Inspired by our own garden at Woodland Cottage and based on real plants growing within a few metres of our glass studio, these small pieces of art are designed to capture the spirit of a cottage garden. They feature Coreopsis, Salvia, Penstemon, Achillea, Lavender and Campanula plants along with a bee and butterfly paying a visit to the garden. Each element is painstakingly positioned by hand, with delicate detail, making each piece of art completely unique.
Each piece of art is created using a mixture of glass paint, crushed glass and cut pieces of glass, before being fired at nearly 800°C. It is then returned to the kiln a second time to create the elegant S-curved shape which enables it to form a free-standing piece of art. This can be a lovely gift for a keen gardener (or someone who just loves plants!), or a beautiful way to brighten a windowsill.
Size is approximately 21-23cm wide x 8-9cm high.
Also available as a flat piece of art with an oak stand.
